Oil filter

-
I did one on my ‘03 Dakota. The oil filter is now under the front passenger door. Take note and care where the lines run, near and around. No sharp edges, no rubbing or sliding on the body and in a trucks case, the frame. And every now and again, check the hose end to end especially the hose ends for dry cracking and tight work clamps. It is a small inspection you should perform at every oil change as part of the routine. It takes no time at all to do while the oil is draining out of the pan.

You may want to screw in 45* ends on the block adapter to help further move the oil lines away from the hot headers. Even wrap them if you want to provide maximum protection from engine heat and any oils that may get on them.

For me, this was a good move making the filter easy to reach and keep me from really getting under the truck into the right space and getting oil all over my arm.
