Put a 355 Sure Grip in one of your cars and sell the other one for a blueprint engine... And enjoy....
3.55's or higher will happen behind the 318. Don't need to sell a car to buy a blueprint engine. Blueprint engines are great, but not really the kind of tricks I was looking for.... LOL
 
These absolutely work. I put them on a Falcon I built, since I needed shock mounts anyway. I had a 1.65 60 foot with an 11.98 et.
I know, right? I had them on a Dart, and it would dead hook on DOT tires. 1.8's 60 ft. Best 29 bucks I ever spent on that car (besides the 20 bucks I gave for the engine...LOL)
 
When I was a 4 gear racer, I couldn't afford a clutch tamer. So, I put my brain to work and made one from what was laying around the house.

UNDISPUTED - I'll share a secret... Back when I was rodding the "K" turbo cars, I'd drop anywhere from 1/2 second to a full second by spending 3 dollars at the pet store. I'd buy a fish tank bubbler valve, and install it in the waste gate vacuum line. I could bleed off and jack the boost up to exactly where I wanted it. Fine tuning was easy! 3 bucks!!

The first fueler to run in the fours did, and so did the last Mopar to win the NASCAR cup championship. Mopar OEM and SRT oil is Pennzoil. I personally know an International Drag Racing Hall of Famer who was sponsored by and got free Redline oil, but paid cash for Pennzoil, and sold the free Redline he got.
 
Here's a couple more. I have first hand knowledge, in that I saw the Pennzoil given to the racer or his crew, of Michael Waltrip, Dick LaHaie, and Whit Bazemore. I have friends who have first hand knowledge of Grumpy Jenkins and Bill Elliot (when he was sponsored by Citgo) of receiving Pennzoil racing oil. Jenkins on sponsorship, and Elliot paying cash.
One of my favorite stories is when I was at the Indy Car race at Nazareth around 1989. There was about a dozen empty Pennzoil 20W-50 bottles on the ground around Rick Mears car when the crew was thrashing in the pits. I asked if I could have one, and one of the crew kicked one over to me on the other side of the ropes. I took it into the office on Monday and called Oil City and asked for information on the batch of oil that was recorded by a code printed on the bottom of the bottle. I was given blending and packaging dates, etc, but what I remember best is that the batch was 25,000 gallons. Any batch that large was no special blend, but just what anyone could buy off the shelf.

I still have a 1989 Daytona turbo 2 CS edition 80,000km. I’ve only put one diff pin through the case , I’m gonna try that !
 
Best et. Was 14,92 at 95 mph low prep track 2.3 ft 60ft.

it's easy. Only requires a pocket knife to cut the vacuum hose, insert a T-fitting, and run another hose up towards the top of the motor for easy access, or you'll be reaching behind a hot motor

That really does work at least on mopar cleaners. I saw a you tube video of those guys on..(cant remember the name of the show) but the one guy is steve (his last name starts with a d and I cant pronounce it much less spell it) he is a big mopar guy and he took a dual snorkel mopar air cleaner and put it on a dyno with it stock and flipped and it made quite a bit more power!

Pen might be a good oil now , but have you ever torn down a chevy engine that was run on the old stuff back in the day? was the gummed upest motor I`ve ever seen !!

I had a 88 Silverado that it made a fair diff in , w/ dual exhaust , only changes from stock .

Then, as now, people would pay a little more, and thought they could leave it in forever. Also, then as now, people who follow reasonable oil change intervals have clean engines.

Mostly agree but that engine had been maintained reg. , pennzoil had a bad producr for a few yrs back then.

Thats funny because I know, for a fact, that pennzoil users were taking cash from pennzoil and buying other brands with it.

In fact, there was a lawsuit over it, people were fired and one brand never sponsored an NHRA again. To this day they won't touch anything NHRA because of the way they were treated over the pennzoil deal.

Same with slick 50 when was backing Rickie Smith. Had that name on everything, but they had a different brand of oil in the car.

BTW, it was Eckman and Orndorff working with a guy named Bob whose last name I forget who was doing the dirty. E & O also did some other stuff!!

I knew they were using nitrous back in 1994 or 95 because they were testing with it at Woodburn. Even Ray Charles could see by the spark plug what they were doing. It was comical. They were ordering oil in 5 gallon pails. I could tell by the numbers on the pail it wasn't pennzoil. In fact, I still have the records showing that at the very least, during that time frame, about a minimum of PS cars were using one brand of oil, regardless of what sticker was on the car. Hence the law suits and all that crapola.

I remember that deal very well. Pure cronyism, and a lot of people were pissed off. If they were going to sink that kind of money into a team, why those guys? Why Pro Stock? This was before they before they sponsored Michael Waltrip, who had exponentially more exposure. I'm just glad the car that had the explosion wasn't yellow.
