As soon as you can, get the three books listed in this thread. Tune-up parts and technique suggestions in this post. Carburetor operation and repair manuals and links to training movies and carb repair/modification threads are posted here for free download. Also see this thread.
Last link sends me to the login page. I logged in and it went to a post about a 66 wagon. Third post was a lengthy one by you which I am assuming is the target. I doubt the login page was part of your plan. The other links don't do that.
