FWIW, the '67-'69 Barracudas were the first ''beak'' cars.
A ''73-'76 Dart Sport hood has exactly the same contours as a '69 Barracuda hood.

That is what I noticed looking at a '69 Barracuda one day. That's the same hood that the 73-76 Darts and Dart Sports used. That is where it was born in 69, so the designers built the beak on to it trying for a new hit styling . . . the rest is history.
