Bought a Fass DRP2 which is supposed to "almost" directly replace the troublesome lift pump on my 01 Dodge Cummins. Went out after lunch to have a look and "plan" and I looked down in that oily mess and thought "DAMN that thing looks kinda small!!" (the factory lift pump slung under a bracket on the engine.

TURNS OUT THE LIFT PUMP IS NOT THERE. There is some sort of adaptor block with the fuel lines hooked to it, and the lift pump is IN THE TANK. So now I'm not sure what to do.........

I know somewhere they mentioned the "suction tube kit" which I guess is for removing the factory pump but I'm not too darn enthused about pullling the bed OR the tank!!!

The FASS systems I was familiar with were mostly de-aerators as I recall. More fuel less air entrained in the fuel. Some guys liked them...some took 'em off and charged it to experience.

my 2001 cummins lift pump is on side of block below filter housing

My 2000 ate three, no biggie. Never tried to upgrade and just a Carter factory replacement. Pre and post Filter fuel pressure gauge keeps you informed. The injector pump is pricey and lots of work. I never had to change it as was warned in time!

Course that in 185k miles.

The intank pump is supposed to be an upgrade. The pump is on the block. My truck has 440 kilometres on it. I put a Holley blue pump on mine. I was warned it’s not for fuel injection. It’s been on since 2012. Problem solved. I heard the draw straw in the tank likes to fall off. Hasn’t yet. Kim

Evidently the "on block" pump was removed and the "in tank" pump installed. I don't know yet is this supposed to be a dealer upgrade, or was someone selling this in a kit? I may fab up a bracket and put the fass down on the frame, but either way I'd have to pull the bed or the tank to pull out the in tank and either modify it or get a "pumpless" sender or something.

Been running an Air Dog on my 03 ram for years. One of the best upgrades I did. Not that hard to drop the tank. Swing on by and we'll get her done.
