Need to know if I will have proper clearance to the leaf springs on a stock 1970 Duster 340 (8 3/4" Suregrip) with 14"x 7" Rallye wheels (4 1/4" back space) and GoodYear Polyglas G70-14 bias ply tires. These tires are too expensive to guess wrong, so your help is really appreciated.

Oh yea, no problem as long as your axle is stock width.

I put 'em on my 70Dart back in highschool. So if the fit my Dart they will fit your Duster.
But I think 7" rims are too narrow.
A "G" is an 8.25 treadwidth, and the rule back then was to have rims equal to the treadwidth. I'm not 100% sure but I think I ran on 8.5s or 8s. But I have long forgotten the backspacing. That was about 1971/72.... I have even forgotten what my naked girlfriend looked like;completely.

a 7" rim will be fine. G70- 14 is a good choice. look good and perform well with no clearance issue.

Just for clarity....The G70-14 tires I'm considering are the GoodYear Polyglas biasply. The dimensions are 6.9" tread width, 8.9" section width, 26.81" diameter.

Here's the car with the G70-14 with 7"rim on the rears. Plenty of clearance everywhere.

running a 235/60/14 on a 7 inch old school steel slot rim 5 on 4 does really well on the barracuda// like the survivor look until paint and red line steelies (no I am not running the 30 yr old G-60 tires) local tire shop had a pair of new Kelly's someone ordered and never picked up
