Just what you said. Although I could not get a 1/8" rod in the slot at the carburetor. But it seems to be shifting more normally.
If my 727 shifts too soon, and too soft, which way do I adjust?

That works as long as it’s not holding the carb from opening all the was. Kim

No, it is opening all the way, but there is still a very small amount of slop in the linkage at WOT. The linkage is not acting as a throttle-stop. Thanks.

I use Wot as my base line when adjusting the kickdown from the arm that goes to the carb, then i extend it a 1/4 longer usually where i like it. Also make sure you have a good spring on it too.
