have a 418 stroker laying around to use.... but
Were i to sell that shortblock and keep my current 360, who makes a piston i could get over 12 to 1 with. I have milled 58cc eddie heads currently, and stock 360 bottom end.
Looking to change rods and pistons maybe. Open up the heads a little more( currently mildly ported) and see if with just those changes car would dip in the 10’s
Right now its just over 10 to 1 and have airgap. Been 11.20’s but more typically high 40’s low 50’s in summer heat.
My idea is i dont want to break my rearend(8.75) and a stock stroke motor lessens the chances of that. I have a brake, but i foot the car all the time

That piston would be well over 14-1 with my heads and a normal head gasket
Looking for more like 12.5

With the correct deck height, gasket thickness, chamber volume, you can get your 12 to one with the following, Icon IC741; or you could use a KB107. Depends on what your budget is and what you are going to do.

Sorry my mistake, you can achieve 11.7

Yes, i want probably another full point. I figured about 11.5 with that
Getting 12.5/12.7 ish is gonna make my combo like the extra squeeze a lot

Don call Diamond and see what they can do, great folks to deal with. They make some nice stuff too.

I really doubt you'll find a shelf piston that will give you what you are looking for.......

Good luck

I don't see the difference here. You want 12.5. That's race gas only. What difference does it make if you end up with 14? That's race gas only. I don't see the issue. If you're gonna do it, DO IT.

12.5 to 1 i can run the 110 i run all the time now anyhow. Its clean and i like the smell of it
Car doesn't get driven but maybe 500 miles a summer plus racing, so spending 700-800 a summer on fuel doesn't bother me
Step up to over 14 to 1 now you are talking 112 or better and i cant buy that at select gas pumps around here for 7.39 a gallon like i can 110
When i start considering making some changes, i give it some thought. With the cam i have and convertor, 12.5 ish is about where i want to be. Not more or less. That should make enough power
If i wanted to make more i would use the 418, but i know me. I would bust my rearend( been there, done that) would go roller, and likely new heads. Start running low 10’s/ high 9’s in a heavier car stuff breaks. Been 9’s for a long time already before
Already have 10k slated for new trailer and golf cart..... just wanna dip in the 10’s, changes i have in mind will be cheap and accomplish that without other changes to the car needed..... and i can likely swap the 418 for the freshen up and new pistons and rods at a buddy’s Mopar engine shop who does outstanding work. I am getting too old to likecworking on stuff much anymore. I just like to race and come home in one piece( car too)

I understand now. I was assuming since you could get race gas at all, then all of it was available.

Aries pistons on stock 360 rods. Just over 11.1 with 68cc head
Stock bottom end with W2’s. Hughes solid cam, 10.40’s off the trailer

I always heard that with aluminum heads you can run 1 number higher on the compression with the same octane. That would put your compression at 13.1 equivalent.

Good luck getting that dome to fit an RPM chamber.
Gonna need a lot of whittling.

Of course(just to stir the pot).......
Stocker 340’s run 10’s with flat tops all the time.:usflag:

always somebody faster Dwayne. Lol
Other option i have is to just change the oil and race it again next year. It prints slips just like it is and doesn't need anything to stay that way. See how this hip finishes healing up.
Just got off the walker and on a cane today. Couple more weeks i should be good
