Hi i have a 72 dart swinger, And I needed new LCA for my car because my old ones were literally cracked.. and i got some 73 LCA for really cheap! I noticed that these had sway bar “brackets” on them. I was wondering if there is a way to mount a aftermarket swaybar on my original 72 kframe with these 73 LCA?
I read that the brackets change place between 72 and 73 on the LCA and that also the k frame change where the swaybar mounts? Is this an issue? Or does a 73 style swaybar bolt on with just a few mods Or do I need to do some serious fabrication on anything?
Or is this just a stupid idea?

sorry for my bad English..
greetings from Sweden!

On 67-72 the swaybar is mounted in front of the K frame. 73-76 the swaybar goes through the center of the K frame. Not sure how you can make that work with the 67-72 K frame.

Get a swaybar kit for 67-72 K frame that comes with end link brackets you bolt on to the LCAs, and cut off the 73-76 LCA sway bar brackets.

That's what I would do. Additionally, if your 72 LCAs have sway bar brackets, maybe you can cut them off and relocate them to the 73 arms. The only difference between 62-72 and 73-76 LCAs is the location of the swaybar endlink brackets.

Well he is in Sweden, this is all he may have access to. Shipping heavy stuff like that from the U.S. is probably cost prohibitive. However if you network with our Swedish members, its a possibility one of them may have what you need as a trade

If he added bolt on brackets to run the 72- bar, I dont see any need to remove the original brackets from the LCA.

I'm not sure what brackets are on there are material, as aftermarket bars may not "follow" factory brackets.

The bottom of the k-member needs to have these cutouts for the late k-member. I have seen an early k-member with this bottom, so you never know what you have until you look. The bracket on the left of the first pic is for the sway bar mount.
