I know I am asking a lot of questions........looking for info to help me decide which way to go with this 65 Barracuda.
I've been futzing with the shift and park cables bla bla bla. Looking at having a newer 904 built to simplify things.

I know I need
Torque convertor to match new trans AND small hole in crank
Driveshaft to fit trans spline plunge

I talked to A&A trans in Indiana about a 904 and he says he has a cable and trans lever kit to use a new 904 with my stock floor console shifter.
Anyone have familiarity with that? Thank you!!!!

Yes the conversion cable is very simple. I did one a few years back.. I had Hughes build me a converter with the small snout in 2004 doing a change over on a Slant 6. Cost was about $600 if I remember.

Are the cables damaged? This sounds like a bag of snakes. I would keep it all as original or go with a different motor, trans, and shifter. Asfaras the converter, you could use the original front guts to go with the original converter. I would just get good at working with the original setup.

I would be interested in getting something like this. Can you provide a part number or a contact number for him? Thanks

I edited post #2. Along with the cable shift conversion,You will need a converter with a small snout crank register to go with a, lets say a 68-up 904.
