Hi folks, I’m curious,I know a power lock is stronger but I have acquired a Dana 60 with a track lock. I want opinions from those that know please. How would the Dana 60 track lock fair using it street and strip in a 3200 pound A body with a 451/727? Thanks!

Wel, maybe it's the same thing, maybe not, but my D60 has an Eaton tru-trac and is rated for 1,000 hp

Why not run it and replace it if you end up burning it up? Just thinking out loud here, but if it fails it would just roast the clutches or break a spider gear, so I would doubt you'd damage the ring and pinion. Of course I could be wrong. I'd give Dr Diff a call and see what he says.

Get one for 35 spline axles.

Mine is 35 spline. I’m gonna replace the spiders and clutches going in.

I don’t think their nearly as good as a unit. I wouldn’t use it with sticky tires. U break it u break ur trans. Just my opinion. But millions of trucks were built with them. Kim

That’s what mines from. It’s gotta be better than an 8.75.
