Stop in for a cup of coffee

Something like that.... I had a case of water in the freezer downstairs, but we are using those. Need to replenish that.

And I have a woodstove that will heat the whole house.
And, if you have a water heater, it is filled with drinkable water.

Exactly. I’ve been involved in too many SAR missions post weather events to not have a plan b. I have a 3 day storm kit with food, clothing and water for 4 people in a big storage tote. 40 bucks total. And a back up generator that’s large enough to run my furnace.

Here, we have two major threats, tornadoes and blizzards. The kit works for both. Course, it’d have to survive the tornado but being it’s in the crawl space, I figure barring a direct hit, it’ll be fine.

I’m not talking full doomsday with 5 years of supplies type thing but enough to at least be okay until help comes. 2-3 days
There's normally only 2 of us. So I am pretty sure we would be fine for at least a week. Would be a blizzard like NEVER seen in our area to require that... Even a tornado in our area is so infrequent and generally not bad compared to what you could get. Not something we would need days worth for anyway. Usually very localized and people are rescued/taken care of within hours in most cases.

Yep, was including that part of your list, 80 gallon. I think we only have one of our 5 gallon jugs left. Need to get a couple new ones. But have cases of water.

The ladies are making breakfast and watering the garden. Yes we have our own banana tree, and herbs and Chili's, and more

Funny, but when the toilet tank drop-in cleansers first came out there was an uproar from the DOD since the water in the tank was considered potable in case of nuclear attack. They accused the manufacturers of the stuff as being communist sympathizers and agents threatening to undermine the US readiness for nuclear attack.

Who knew the Tidy Bowl man was a Commie?

Ok, car related question. Has any of you guys seen loose headrests to put over the seats in the old cars ?

Bill
I’m not sure I understand the question. Why would you want that?

A head rest that isn't integrally attached to the back rest frame offers zero protection in a collision. Worthless unless all you want to do is sleep against it.

Well, I just wondered if some of you guys where familiar with it, it was no more than that in the question.

The reason would be to save ones neck if hit from behind.

Yeh, my wife puts bleach stuff in them, so that water aint much good for anything but the next flush.

The wind quit. Got a little brush fire 45 minutes down 101. That place has had a rough few years. Fire cleared most of the big brush 3 years ago.

Unless it is mechanically attached to the rear seat frame, it won’t provide protection in a crash. Too many dynamic forces involved for a slip on headrest to function safely. Screw it to the frame of the backrest and then maybe.

No such thing as a perfect direct from behind impact in a straight line...and that thing could do more harm that good being a slip on. A few degrees off from center and your back or neck is fractured by it.

Yeahhh...Just ask Kevin Hart...:rofl::rofl:

The best is without a doubt not to be in a crash. I need seat belts too. 3 point belts.

Bill
If I wanted to add headrests, I would change the seat out with one made that way. S for belts, not sure what you need to do for your anchor points. On the floor, I think they are usually through a bracket or they add a backer plate. I know that’s how my rear belt were. One was rusted away, so I duplicated what the factor one was on other side.

There are 3 point belts out there, different kinds, even color keyed. I think they come with all the hardware needed, in other words, backing plate, and if I am not mistaken it should be possible to get one up inside the b post. The other two anchor points should be fairly easy.
