Anyone flowbench the trickflow 190 heads yet???

Dude 5 says I don't care about the dyno, only the ET

One of my personal favorites.

Cuz everyone’s car is 100% sorted out, along with track and weather conditions not having any impact on the cars performance.

Put your 750hp 540 that makes peak tq at 5200, peak hp at 7000 in a 4000lb 71 fury with a 12” converter, 2.76’s, and open rear end....... compared to an 1800 dragster with the correct converter and gearing, and I’m sure the numbers would show the motor is making the same power in both combos.:realcrazy:
Uuhh...... ain’t gonna work out that way.
The better car makes the numbers look better.

My point with the flow numbers was.......when you look at flow data from different benches, the only thing you’re really comparing is, especially when it comes to CNC ported heads offered by a manufacturer, the flow benches themselves.

If you brought one head to 10 different head shops, I’m pretty sure you would end up with a pretty noticeable spread from the highest to lowest.

Unless you have a database from a bench that you’ve used before to be able to compare the results with....... it’s just numbers.

When the TF 240 heads came out there were a bunch of results posted.
I saw one shop that had the numbers noticeably higher than what others had posted, and they were also higher than the advertised numbers.
At that time I had already tested 4 heads...... and all were within a couple cfm.
These other numbers were about 20cfm higher.
There is NO WAY the head flowed 20cfm more than the 4 heads I tested.
In other words, tested back to back, on the same bench, both heads would have been within a couple of cfm.

So, the 20cfm higher numbers might make you feel better....... but the head itself isn’t really any better.

If you get enough test results from various testing services...... and you need to see a certain number to make you feel good about hitting the “add to cart” button....... eventually you’ll get the answer/number you’re looking for.

If I had tested some, I’d post the results.
But IMO, that data would only be directly comparable to other test results from my bench.

I had a customer of mine from out of state get a couple of heads flowed at a shop near him.
Two different heads that I’m very familiar with.
The numbers are waaaaay off. Not way high......way low....... like 40-50cfm low.
There is no way they flow that little........ either the bench is way off, or the testing procedeure is wrong...... or both.
The numbers are useless for trying to gauge how they stack up compared to most of the rest of the world.
They are only useful if you did before and after testing to gauge your progress.

If 3 people responded to this thread...... with the results being 320, 305, 292........ would that really be of any help in deciding to buy them or not?
