Pretty much. If you're asking for the easiest way generally just bolting the shifter to the floor poking a hole in the floor for the cable to go through and connecting the cable up..
Routing the cable loose with no Kinks is key..
I'm a huge fan of the Quicksilver shifter for Street strip..
Save the column shifter for the weird people and the ones going to get the groceries...
