I’m about getting ready to start my interior reinstall and I’m up in the air as to what shifter I want after some thought. It’ll be a mostly street with strip car and I do plan on a manual valve body. My car is a column shifter but I have a B & M floor shifter. Having gone from a /6 to a V8 and still staying with a 904 and not having much of a reference from either another A body or personal knowledge, what would be the easier route? Staying with a column and getting the pieces I need, or installing the floor shifter and getting the remaining pieces for that? From my lack of knowledge, for my 904 if I was to do the floor shifter what parts does a person need for it? I know I’ll need a 727 shift lever and that’s it. All I have is the floor shifter and nothing else.
If I went with the column, all I would need is the kick down and throttle cable(brackets as well)? The only thing missing is the /6 904 trans but everything else stayed with the car transmission wise. Sorry if these seem like dumb questions but I’ll admit I’m still learning about things as I go along.

I have a 727 with a reverse pattern full manual valve body, and love this shifter. It's all gated, and is easy to use on the street with no effort. It pulls back towards the seat so no chance of hitting neutral. Comes with a line lock button on the handle.

I vote floor shifter. I like the B&M ratchets. looks like you have most of it.

What do I need for the floor shifter then? Just the shift lever and a cable?
Pretty much. If you're asking for the easiest way generally just bolting the shifter to the floor poking a hole in the floor for the cable to go through and connecting the cable up..
Routing the cable loose with no Kinks is key..
I'm a huge fan of the Quicksilver shifter for Street strip..
Save the column shifter for the weird people and the ones going to get the groceries...

Yeah that’s kinda how my question was suppose to go but making a midnight post didn’t make it quite clear. I do plan on bolting the shifter to the tunnel but I wasn’t sure what parts I needed for the operation. Is there a specific cable I need (like a B&M) or do I need to shop around?

Yes B & M makes several different sizes of cables and brackets to fit your transmission...
It might be worth a call to they're techline or something just to get a ballpark figure..

Cool that’s what I thought right after I posted lol I’ll give them a call and get my ducks in a row.

So guys question about the shifter I posted in my OP. It says B&M on the handle but Hurst is on the shifter arm. There’s not p/n or model or anything else on the whole thing so which shifter should be assumed it is, B&M or Hurst? I haven’t had a chance to call on it due to fighting a flooded basement.

So to correct myself in my original post, I have a Hurst Promatic 2 not a B&M. Any who I contacted Holley and they gave me a parts list of things I’ll need to install my shifter, like the cable, some bolts, indicator light, etc. I have a reference number for when I order the parts list. When I order and receive them I’ll give an update of what parts come in.
