blower motor ground

The coiled wires on the brown fiberglass board is the blower motor resistor pack. When power is running thru one, motor is on low, when it's running thru just the other, the motor runs at medium speed, when it's not running thru either coil and is bypassing them both, the motor runs on high.
I suppose model and how many fan speeds are available varies. I'm more familiar with Ford but I don't think there's much difference in how they are wired. No resistor is high, through one resistor is lower, though 2 resistors is even lower. More resistors, more lower speeds.
So... you'll find the resistors are in series, supplied from one end, all hot. The fan switch position dictates which wire/which resistor or resistors are used.
