We had a neat deal over here at the P&W plant in East Hartford during the summer. About 6 of the DC-3/C-47's that were flying over to Europe for the D-Day celebration flew over us at a very low altitude. They did this because they all use the Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp engines. P&W made about 174,000 of these 14-cylinder 1,200 HP engines during WWII. Pretty cool stuff. P%26W1830onDak.jpg
