Stop in for a cup of coffee

My wife called me extremely naive when we met. In some ways it is true. I grew up in a society where ideas Was not punishable if someone tried and hurt themselves. Here in the US you can walk up to a police officer and cal him whatever name you want, and read profanities over him. In Norway you can not do that. You will be punished for having offended him. But you can tell anyone you want about an idea you have and he go and try it and end up in a wheel chair. You can not be punished for that. On my property if it is not fenced anyone can walk there, there is no such things as trespassing. If he stumble in a rock or a tree root and break his foot, well too bad, but I as the owner of the land will not be punished for it. People are much more on their own there in that regard and have to be responsible for their own acts.Very little warning signs around telling you this and that is dangerous.

Sometimes I forget that and say something I regret a little later.

My wife says Norway is stagnant because people are suppressed because of socialist ideas. But I see something else that she does not see. The US is in some ways stagnant because lawyers here sue people for in my opinion something completely ridiculous. So, there always good things with an idea, but it can also come something negative out of it. Over the few years I have lived here I have changed quite a bit. I walk around in a constant fear all the time that something bad will happen to me, a fear I never had in Norway. It is like loosing absolutely all safety nets you have around you. So, you will probably see less and less from me when it comes to being an open person. I notice it myself every day.

Just need to consider your audience when speaking. Unless you have authority or put something out as ‘knowledgeable’ info, I don’t see a problem. As said we are just kicking ideas around. Not writing a ‘how to’. And maybe some of it is your zip code. Not saying some people aren't out to sue around here, but I'm not afraid to talk...
