Think of it this way, if you put too big of a cam in you don't have any other parts to make it work. I wouldn't go too big with a 2 barrel, stock torque converter, and unknown rear gears. It all has to work together. The intake and carb will work without the cam but the cam might not work well with the 2 barrel if it's too big.
