What they are teaching in college nowadays

So my son started college recently to become a teacher. So he is taking the basic requirements to get to the point he can do the advanced classes. He has been telling us and showing us the videos they make them watch and answer questions to. One video was a gal who obviously has had bad relationships in her life and the video was all about how the term "falling in love" was not p.c because the word "falling" denotes a term that means you were not given a choice to fall in love, because falling is not a self chosen action. That it should be "stepping into love". Then he brought home today a "white privilege checklist" today. All of the class has to fill it out. Now I am not even going to get into a race discussion here, just curious if this is a liberal Oregon thing, or nationwide thing? And at what point does race color privilege need to be taught as a college course? The teachers push gender, race, relationship opinions over anything else. I would think it would be more appropriate to teach curriculum related to the course topic. He is taking basic psychology, math, and English. I am seriously wondering wtf? The teachers have also voiced their sexual preferences. As one said he is thinking about trying guys, and the gal teacher said she is pansexual....I am really worried about America as a whole. I can understand this being part of the curriculum in a psych class under the circumstances.
The gender awareness thing has gotten to be pretty big, especially in the last decade or so and people that shape minds need to at least have an understanding about it.
I agree that the whole subject has gotten way out of hand, but what are our options?
It can't be ignored or denied, so it's prevalence in society has to be taught to insure awareness. (especially in a psychology class)

Personally I think it's a shame it has gotten to the point of old straight white males trying to decide what rights a gay should have over a trans and so on.
Human rights are human rights and there shouldn't be any qualifying.

Also, I'd bet you 100 bucks that most of these old white males in our society and government making some of these decisions and laws affecting these people's human rights would be cowering in a foxhole while a gay or trans defended them on the battlefield.
