I have a friend who is moving has two A body 8.25 rear ends he needs to get rid of. He is going to send them to the scrap pile tomorrow, if nobody picks em up.

I would grab them, but I have no need for them. Would anyone be interested? They are 2.76 and 2.9xx gear sets and need brakes.

If no one wants the whole rear axle, I'd pay shipping and a few $ for your time to have the 2.9x ring and pinion.

I'm getting ready to swap out my 7 1/4 right now and the 8 1 /4 I picked up last year has some badly rust pitted gears. I cleaned them up the best I can but it would be nice to have a back up in case they wind up being really noisy.

Ok, he isn't 100% sure, but believes they are 245 and 296. I think I will go ahead and pick them up tomorrow and I can see.

I would certainly be interested in the 293 geared 8 1/4 rear end but I am across the country diagonally from you. I wonder how much it would cost to ship it here?

Okay, I just got home with them. He changed his mind, so he wasn't giving them away for nothing. So I think I'm going to put them up for sale to recoup what I paid for them. I'll start it for sale thread here soon. If anybody still interested they can PM me.

A sale thread would be perfect. I think I will close this thread to prevent any confusion. Thanks.
