If you don’t use Teflon rings then what should be used? I’m looking to rebuild a 727 and looking at rebuild kits from Cope Racing Trans, all I see in his kits offered are the Teflon seals..?

Cope might be good, just reboxed stuff from other places where it can be had for a bunch less. A 727 doesn't need anything fancy for a street beater. Northern auto for a rebuild kit, oregon trans for bands, etc.

What ever it takes transmission has a large selection of individual parts....steel or teflon sealing rings..

Joe from Transzact recommends the teflon seals also....guy taking a second look at the trans for me does not...he builds and services alot of nhra stocker trans here in Vegas...plus he was a Chrysler mechanic for 30 yrs.....so your choice...
the teflon seal on this was not entirely their fault...i used bearing grease instead of vasoline to hold them in the groove....bearing grease kept them packed down in the groove..and not let them seal....but..I know the steel ones work so for now it steel...

Looks like after 47 times...i finally got it working correctly...lol.....tires are moving ...shifts...and no tranny fluid on the floor...

I was thinking...:realcrazy: I wonder if you would have just let it warm up more if the grease would have softened and things would have started working?...

probably would have...but went i finally figured out why it was not working it was out and torn apart...lol....I have big jar of vasoline....ready for any tranny now....

pulled the valve covers and adjusted the valves.....got a brake line that seems to be leaking...finding brake fluid on the floor went ever i raise the car up in the air...going to replace the complete line from master cylinder to rear axles......started car up and added 2 qts of tranny fluid to get it topped off.....got in car....put in neutral hit button...it backs up....put in 1st hit button...rev up and brake is working...things looking good to head out of town in two weeks..

side note....Summit has Right stuff brake line to replace that line....44 bucks for prebent line.....shipping is 50 dollars due to double oversize box......no thanks
order a 60 inch and 51 inch steel line for 7.00....with free shipping.....bought tube bender from HF this morning for 7.50.....

well...got the flash light out and put the car up in the air...was going to remove old brake line...but...but it is not leaking there....dam housing on the line lock is leaking .....bingo...we have a winner...

ordered one off Amazon...looks just like the jegs one....next day delivery.....

Got all the parts needed....but working the weekend at the NHRA event in Vegas.....my feet are killing me....but having a blast.

Ok....new line lock solenoid is ......had to replace a brake line.....and got all the leaks fixed....bled brakes and got good pedal...
battery charger on for the night.....wash and clean tomorrow and then into the trailer....start packing stuff....

I’m going to be at the divisional just to hang out..... should have entered and ran super street since my present combo bangs that index! Will be racing at Street car though....

Had issues still
Running light on trailer was blowing fuse on truck last night. We got here just after dark. We got it somewhat fixed
Isolated the short
Got light on back half of trailer

This morning pass the trans brake did not hold. Rolled the beams, 10.577 @ 127.....
2nd pass had to foot brake.she has not much experience foot braking. Ran 10.27 @128.46. 60ft was somewhat slow 1 425. Should be in the 1.3x. But we are still racing...lol

Going to practice in the morning on the foot braking. I think the car has another tenth in it.
