That's real sad, man. It's a sign of the times.

Sorry to hear about Havana. Come on up to Cordova. Still going strong.

We are trying our best to keep our local strip alive. Our Mopar club sponsors Mopar Max every year. It is slow to take off but each year gets a little bit bigger.

is that strip right in Cedar Falls/Waterloo area? I've been to Earlville....

How much? If we all kick in $5 we can buy it for Joey. FABO Quarter Mile. Chevy need not apply.

Didn't they just spend a bunch on the Havana strip rebuilding it a year or two ago?

Where in Iowa are you? It isn't that far from Kansas. Let me know when it is next year, and I will try to make it up there.

I’ll throw in $50.00 just so you guys have some where to go , a little hard for me being down under .

I'd throw in $5.00 and some coffee. Would drive up at least once a year to race.

If that were closer I know guys from the city that would buy it. Street racers are getting run out of town. No where to go anymore unless you have a TV show paying the tab. Why are they selling it ? Is there legal matters with EPA or the City counsel? Looks like it away from residential houses.

I think the "new muscle car era" may save a lot of hurting tracks.....A lot of new people going that never went before

If I had the money would build a 1/2 mile or longer strip because 1/4 is not enough. and turn surrounding area into a wildlife refuge.

They have been trying to get one passed here for last couple years. The council finally approved it. So I guess we will have a new track in 2020. Only 1/8 mile but, it's something.

1/8 is safer, keeps the top speed manageable and allows for cheaper builds. 5.36 gears anyone?

Oh but what a ride! Leave the line at about 8, side step the clutch and start pullin' gears!
I guess I'll always be a 1/4 guy. Been to 1/8 race a few times.... Who has an 1/8 marked out of town????????? lol.... naw, it's 1/4 for me...

Mike (Camaro video) has a Liberty clutchless 5 speed. 4 gears in the 1/8th, 5 in the 1/4. No need to change rear gear. 60 ft are a bit slow. The slicks trip the beam. LOL All with a 331 (destroked 350)
