After a set of solid Roller lifters for R3 48 degree block Crower dont make them anymore said to use the below & flip them around not sure if the link bar centre or bore spacing is the same
has anyone tried this or recommend another Lifter
Part Number: 66234X903H-16
Severe-Duty Mechanical Roller Lifters

I thought the Cranes were Chinese no thanks
US lifters only Johnson no stock ,Crower no longer made next is probaly CC

Will have another look at the Cranes hard finding good information on the net.
The 340 ones Crower recommended seem to be close to 1.8" bore centres where the R3 48 Degree is 1.56" i tried a set of Johnson i used in my 59 Degree Ritter block & the link bar is too far long.

In your other thread in the engine forum someone posted some lifters from GS. They are the same as try Crane Pro Series. IIRC Crane also had a an Ultra Pro lifter too.

Also, IIRC there was more than one lifter bore spacing for those R blocks. It's been awhile since I've done anything with this stuff so I hate going by my memory.

I think there were some options out there where they were moving lifter bores around.

You may want to PM FABO member RAMM and ask him about that. He may know the answer to those question.

The local Crane agent will check out tonight Crane lists an Ultra Pro for 48 degree R series only so it may be the one.

Ultra Pro 69552-16

Hope you find something. Makes it near impossible to build this stuff when you can't get the parts.

Call Brazier Race and Machine in Winnipeg Canada and talk to Mike, he builds and knows the R3 stuff good... I know he uses Morel lifters in his personal engine.

Thanks to all found a set of Crane Ultra Pro
For now a street /Strip Challenger until i find a Valiant or Dart then strip

Glad you found something. Those are a good lifter. Should serve you well.

I’m on the fence about grinding on my R3 block to get a roller cam in it. It’s gone 5.98 with a solid cam and when a Comp roller lifter bar broke on my sons engine after only 50 eight mile passes on them destroying the engine I’m kinda gun shy.

I don't blame you. That's a killer. I think the Crane Ultra Pro lifter is far better than almost anything Comp has, unless they are 1k Comps. The UP Cranes are top of the mark. Next up is something from Jesel stuff.

agree. Crane Ultra pro’s would be my first choice. ran them for years with zero issues.
Best machine likes them, that's good enough for me

Found out mates daughter runs the Crane Ultra Pro's in her R3 no problems
