Also the run together of GTSport which they must have known people would shorten to GTS.

The Swinger 340 compared to the GTS was kinda like the Super Bee compared to the Coronet R/T. They were lower cost models with the same performance as the higher priced ones but with fewer options. But both still part of the Scat Pack.
