Well some good and some bad. First the bad- weights in the front face and some chips in the new paint. Grr.

I went with the Cooper's because discount tire was able to get them in a day and beat the price of the Hercules. I also saw the Hercules HP 4000 in person and I didn't like the tread pattern as much. I don't know if I'm sold on the white letters facing out yet.

Ps- home Depot, AutoZone and napa do not have 3/8-24 thread locking nuts. Only have found regular nuts, so I'm going to try a specialty nut and bolt store here in town but heck it's far away.
Also my wife said since I've been buying car "****" she is buying a new spin bike... Even though she just got a 3yr gym renewal pass and hasn't used it.
I told her the deal is she can get the bike but she has to sell stuff to get it like she makes me with my car stuff... She told me she'd sell "her body" to me. After she said that I quickly realized she was lying; she isn't selling anything and we're married, I kno I'm not getting any boom boom time.

a regular hardware store like Ace or Osh will have the 3/8X24, never understood why Lowes and HD don't

We have Ace & Tru-Value here. They both have a huge variety of hardware items. Maybe that's why Lowes and HD don't, they don't call themselves "hardware stores". McMaster-Carr is another great place to get nearly anything. Order on-line today, I usually get parts the next day, two days at most.

Got the bolts. Looked went to the auto stores around me looking for gear marking compound and a dial indicator, none of the stores have them. So... **** it. My backlash seems nice by hand, let's test fit it and play. I do need to get this, I'm assuming the gear oil drain plug. It all fits together nicely and turns nicely.
Also used wire brush on those manifolds. Pretty much look like they did when they were brand new.

Harbor freight sells a cheap dial indicator and magnetic base stand for it.
Yea I know, was going to think about going there tomorrow.
I lost one and my dad needed it so I bought another. Dont you know it found the other in a bucket in my 67 Fastback. 
That plug hole in the 8.75 housing is for filling it with gear oil. You want to be about .25" - .50" below that hole. I just stick my finger in it and bend the tip down. if I feel oil, it's good to go.
There should also be a tapped hole for a vent on top of the housing towards the driver's side. It's for a vent that keeps pressure from building and blowing your seals. And it holds your brake line distribution block.

Took the advice.
I went with the digital guage so there would be no guess work on the exact measurement.
Seems to be about .5-.8 all the way around, I think that's good looking at past threads.
I couldn't find compound so used a little acrylic paint my wife had for arts and crafts. Contact looks pretty good to me.

So my housing actually has a vent bolt in it, it looks like the cap is on it still as well. Besides DrDiff is there a way to buy them at a local auto parts store? I also need the 3rd member fill plug and I didn't see that on Dr diffs site. I don't mind purchasing from Dr Diff but if I can get it all in 1 swoop in a day or so I'm always happy with that too.
Is that just a regular 3/4in thread bolt plug for the fill plug?
Well called a driveline shop here in town, apparently it's just a 3/4 pipe plug that I can get from a home Depot or the sorts for the drain plug bolt, and he said my vent bolt should be good. We will see I guess right?!
