Did you have one or two of those moments this summer? Maybe a car show that you placed in? Maybe a little Street light scuffle with a ricer..?
Maybe a drive with a friend or your wife and the weather was just perfect in the car was running just great and everything went almost better than you planned?..
I had a couple, so I'll share one to get started..
It was the middle of the summer on an early Sunday morning. I have a customer over in Vancouver I've been helping every other Sunday morning. There's a new Cars and Coffee on Sunday mornings that a mustang club has been trying to get up and running over in that area next to a Black Rock Coffee. It's all cars welcome. I had drove by slowly with my truck in the past just on the way to work and it was mostly Mustangs.
Well this particular morning I was bringing my Duster to work. It's only a block or two off the freeway exit so the car was well warmed up and running good. I entered the parking lot deep on the far side of this large set Shopping Center. I got the car slowed down and idling across the big parking lot towards all the Mustangs. As I Grew closer I started easing just ever-so-slightly on the break. It got the cam starting to Gallup at idle. It was Galloping very even and getting a little bit heavier as I got closer. It was now steadily heavily chugging almost to a stop and starting. Crackle pop stop go... crackle pop stop go... crackle pop stop go... It was total Mopar badassness... I could see their eyes bugged and their mouths hanging open...
It was a glorious day to own a Mopar....

A picture is worth a thousand words!

I can honestly say that I enjoyed working on and driving them. I guess no particular "moment". I liked them all.
But the picture below is always a fun time, especially when I'm lined up with an ole' drag strip buddy :)

My favorite A body moment this year is....I got to drive one, my oldest son's 71 4 door valiant. It was our only car for a lot of years. I had a pretty good 360 when I had it, but not as good as what he has. It is pretty rough now. and it is his only vehicle. but it is a blast to drive. He has an 11:1 solid roller 360, column shifted 727 with reverse manual valvebody, 391 sure grip, and manual disc brakes.

Anyhow my wife and I borrowed it to go grocery shopping, and living in a rural area there is several places where you can open it up, an I did. It brought back a lot of memories of when we were young- uns.

It also reminded me of how A bodies are just about the PERFECT cars to drive! Especially with a little power under the hood and manual disc brakes and manual steering.

I NEED one!

I had just taken my Barracuda out of winter storage. The car cover was just off and the car looked good. First stop was for fuel. I got out at the pumps and heard a shout. It was a married couple both who graduated high school with me. We are both long time car guys and we all took a guided tour of the Barracuda. They knew all my builds and I knew all Bill's builds. It was a great morning. They saw the car at many stages of construction and are two of the few people who get it.

I would say it would be the first start up of my LA based stroker. It sure was a good time with my father.

Spent an evening at the track with my Dad, my son, and my nephew. Weather was perfect, car ran good, and I didn’t break anything. Memories made.

Oh yeah, and a quick drive by of the house warming her up before a nice long Fall cruise...

I do have one more...
Taking out this long line of mopar 4 speeds at the Mopar Nationals and being in the final four...

Happy days...

I would.say finally laying down some color on my junk. Lol. 3 years of body work, 99% on Friday and Saturday nights after the family goes to bed and never picked up a spray before this.

I so want to paint my own car as well.
Major Kudos coming from me.....

Thank you!! It's not perfect. I found a few light spots after it was rolled into the sun. Hard to see in the booth even with all those lights. But I'm proud of it.

After I got a quote of $6-$10k I said, I'll do it myself. Lol. I watched all the paintucation videos by Eastwood on YouTube and read on here as much as I could. The dealership I work at has a body shop, so I used their booth to spray the color and clear,b all the body work and primer was done at my house.

Looking down highway 1 is always my favourite part of summer...

It wasn't a 2019 moment but I was filling up my 65 with its 400 B stroker at a gas station and these 2 clowns next to me ask me the ageless Mopar question "That thing got a hemi?" Ha ha, yuck yuck...I smiled and told them, "That's only 426 inches...mines got 451..." They looked at me like WTH? I gave them a little smoke show pulling out onto the street. Well, it was a lot of smoke....

Again exactly what I want to do...

Haha! Awesome. That reminds me, when we were loading the car on the trailer a customer at the dealership said "Beautiful car, is it a GTO?" LOL.

I said no, it's a Dodge Dart. She just smiled blankely... Lol.
