M-B was bad.... Fiat certainly has been a bit better with product. Now Mopar will have Puegeot as the new owner?

The only people who should own French cars live in France!

I think it was when one of my best friends from high school took a picture of the inside door jamb of his sons Fiat..
They had a pentastar...
It seems my life had reached an all-time low...

Citroens were cool
my very first car was a citroen BX
a ton of the panels were plastic to keep it light
it came stock with air ride suspension, with a little lever right next to the parking brake
it had a "base" mode, a highway mode that lowered the car down and an offroad mode that raised
overnight that car would sink down into the weeds, and on a cold morning it would take minutes for the system to build up enough pressure to lift the body off the ground

as for Peugeot...the 5 GT turbo was interesting

I took a Citroen DS19 in trade from a customer on a Mazda Millenia back in 1991.
He loved that car... said it had the most comfortable seats ! Suspension system was really cool !

I still sell that guy cars.

You guys do realize that Europe built some wicked cars.... right ?

Do some research on Aston Martin DB3 & 5s... Jag E types ... etc. they made some muscle cars of their own in the 60s!

Fiat was good for making Mopar more attractive looking, but gave it some reliability issues. Peugeot could help with that, but they haven't been very bold as far as styling goes.. but maybe the Fiat guys will still stick around for that job.

Years ago I had to change a rear main seal in a Dodge Omni and Napa kept sending me the incorrect seal until I realized that the intake and exhaust manifolds were on the wrong sides of the block. It turns out that not only did Chrysler use VW motors in some of the early cars

I worked at a Peugeot dealer mid 80's until they stopped selling cars hear in the early 90's. We also had Jeep then purchased a Chrysler franchise, looks like it came full circle. Peugeot was a good company to work with, I owned a few and was sad to see them go.

And Mitsubishi. Everybody shares now. I like North American Muscle but Europe has killer cars and tech.

Peugeot has come a long way (and it's merger, not a purchase). It's not like they got bought by Renault.
