How Are You (We) Conserving Fuel & Energy?

Sometimes driving conservatively makes no difference. I experimented one week (took a lot of discipline) with a full tank of gasoline in my parent's new '71 383 Road Runner driving my normal route to school, but pretending I had an egg between my right foot and the accelerator. Worked out to 12.5 MPG, the exact same mileage that I calculated during my normal (not so conservative) driving routine.
