Hi new member just wanting to say hello. I currently have a 93 daytona fwd car that I raced. But I found a 1972 duster in the junkyard. Pulled it out and back-halfed it. Racing the daytona was fun but it was time for an upgrade. Now I am putting it back together and hoping to drag race it in 2020. My dad had various darts when I was growing up so I have always been a fan of the A-bodies.

I'm going to make another post on the forum but I am trying to find more info about my car. I have the vin but no fender tag or build sheet. Not sure who I can contact now since the historical place in Michigan closed in 2016. The car was very dark blue in color. Looked darker than b5 and came with a white stripe and white interior. Id like to paint the car the same color and keep it somewhat original but I am not sure how to get a new fender tag or a build sheet.

So you're saying the junkyard was able to sell this to you without a title?

Welcome to FABO, glad to have you here.
With only a V.I.N., you can't get a fender tag or broadcast sheet made.
The original color would be B7 or B9 if it were a late build car.
At this point, you have back halved the car, so originality is sort of out the window at this point.
My advice is to build the car the way you want with the colors and stripe etc. of your choosing.
If you post the first 10 digits and numbers of your V.I.N. on here, it would give us most of the info we need to determine where the car was built, the original engine size, and roughly the build date of your car.
Have fun!

Some states do not require a title for older cars, for instance in Alabama if you have a car older than 35 years, all you need is a bill of sale.

Thanks everyone. Yeah car was bought bill of sale only but its going to be drag car only so a title wasn't neccessary for me. True that a Back-halfed car takes away from the originality. lol But would be nice to know what other options car came with. I know the car had slant six and was built in michigan based on the vin. as requested first 10 digits are vl29c2b176

Here I found the link. This is how guys use to get a build record with only a vin but that company is closed.

Contacting the Chrysler Historical Collection

Welcome from the northern end of Interstate 79! Got a 72 340 4 speed that has been in the family since 1978.
