5.9 360 Engine from a 2500 Ram for my 67 Dodge Dart

I am thinking about buying a 5.9 360 Engine from a 2001 2500 Ram truck. Right now I have a blown 360 engine in my car. It was from a 71 truck. Should I buy this engine and what stuff would I need to buy to make it work in my 1967 Dart. The engine is still in the truck and it seems like a good engine. Engine had 86k on it.

Be sure you. get the flexplate with the engine from the truck.
You can do one of 3 things for an intake.
1. Drill the magnum heads and use the intake from the Dart motor.
2. Buy a magnum intake.
3. Buy differant heads that would use the LA intake you have.
With that low of mileage I would not tear the short block down. I would knock out the freeze plugs and flush out the water jacket then put in new plugs.
If not using a magnum intake then either drill the heads or replace them.
Take the front off the blown motor and the oil pan and mounts and put them on the magnum.
You will need to check the header to side of block where the side mounts are for clearance. Grind as needed.
While the front cover is off you can replace the timing chain and gears if needed.
You can also replace the oil pump when changing the pan and pickup.
As for the torque converter. The magnum flex place balances the engine. Not a weight on the converter. You need a neutral balanced converter. If your converter has a weight on it for the 360 you can remove it and make that converter neutral balanced.
You will need to oblong one of the bolt holes where the converter bolts to the flexplate in order to bolt the converter up.
Of course you'll be reusing the distributor from the motor that's in the car already.
