I didn't see anywhere you said what transmission you're running.
Not sure what year but there was a change to the A904 Hub diameter going into the crank. I don't know if it was changed in 67 or 68. Someone else will chime in.
You can run an early transmission behind a later engine, you just need to use a bushing.
