What has your street 340 and 360 combos ran in the 1/8 & 1/4 mile?

I had a 67 dart gt. 1970 340 that I gave a ring job. X heads with 3 angle valve job. 284/484 purple shaft. Casler 1 5/8s headers. 3.55 gears. 750 comp Carter carb, LD340 intake. Factory high stall converter and tf-3 kit. 13.2 quarter. Kin

Tunnel rams rule...

Of course they do!
Though I do like “That roaring TQ sound” a whole lot. I’m not sure about trying the below though. I guess it could be a good laugh.

dumb question
How does a Dart weight 3610 with driver?
My 69 has mild steel cage, all metal, zero fiberglass. Factory hood, bumpers, etc... everything but the back seat. i weigh 320 and the car weighs 3290 with me in it.

B3422w5. I don't no. I weighed it on a nhra scale and that's what it read. Surprised the hell out of me. I weigh about 260. I'll weigh it again this spring when I go back to make sure.

Backseat in spare tire jack full tank of gas maybe a few spare quarts of oil in the trunk and a little tool kit who knows it could add up..

I know both my Dusters do not have none of the options of A/C, power steering, power brakes, nor do I carry a spare or jack. Both small blocks/904's and one is about 3200 and one 3160 without me and a 1/4 tank of gas. The 3160 car has a 7.25 rear end. The 3200 car has 8.75 rear end but has had some of the weight behind the bumpers cut out. Both do have the fold down back seat which add a little. Weighed on a digital scale.

IMO the total weight on the scale is about right.
Its within the range of what I've seen, even considering options including undercoating etc, fuel fill etc.
My '67 notchback was 3201 lbs (without driver) on digital scales, and around 3390 at track scales (Englishtown) with the trunk full of tools (about 150 lbs worth).

From Brookland Books republication of magazines tests (Barracuda)
1967 NB 6 a/c 3280 curb, 3580 test, 58.9 % Car Life
1967 FB 273 p/b 3310 curb, 3720 test, 54.9 % Car Life
1969 FB 340 p/b p/s 3470 curb, 3650 test, 55.1 % (w/ driver) Car Life (car tested w/ K-H alum. rims)
1969 FB 440 3405 curb, 3740 test, 57.2 % (w/ driver) Car Life

My 68 dart was 3320 w/o driver. 383 auto. Kim
Seems to be in the same ballpark.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that the darts had a longer wheelbase than a Duster did so that would add some weight if true. My sons 1970 (360) Duster weights 3200 pounds with him in it. That’s with Edelbrock heads and an aluminum intake. Pretty sure he weighs around 150-160 pounds. He cut the trunk wheel tub out and replaced it with steel sheet. No heater blower or windshield wiper motor. 8 point mild steel cage and frame connectors added. Caltracs and mono leafs. The only fiberglass is a heavy 6 pac hood. One race seat and one stock bucket seat and rear seat is still in car. Stock frontend.

Should have added he removed the stock gas tank and added an 8 gallon fuel cell which he fills after every pass to help consistently

I looked up the curb weight on a 69 340 dart auto
3108 pounds
1970 340 Duster.... 3110
Interesting.
Similar but also slightly different than what was reported to AMA for 1970.
The 1970 Hamtramck Registry - 1970 AMA Specifications - Valiant & Duster

Could be a different definition. Full load of fuel or such could make the difference.
