Crocs are a Crock of #$%%

Crocks?
Up here in our current weather wearing them outdoors is suicide.
My buddy’s wife tore the ligaments in her knee after slipping and falling on the ice.

on the footwear note, im convinced the skechers are about the best shoe i have worn in a long time. Im a steel toed boot 7 days a week kinda guy and running/walking shoes are not my favorite.

How are they for long term concrete use?
They seem to hold up fine, I haven’t seen any significant wear of the soles on concrete, asphalt or anything else. My work is solid concrete floors with a thin carpet layer and my garage is uncovered concrete. 3 years of use and I have no complaints.

The insoles are 3 layer adjustable so you can pick the padding you want.

Thank you. I bookmarked them. I will have to try them.

Love my Skechers, 1st pair. Bride made me buy them. I'm diabetic and also messed up foot from motorcycle accident.
Thick spongy sole in them. Skechers Sport Wide fit.

I am struggling with that right now. It got so bad, I had to quit my job at O'Reilly. It's still pretty bad, but I have taken another job helping a friend doing all the mechanical work he needs done at his restoration shop. I have nice Craftsman rolling seat and he says he wants me no matter what so if I need to sit down it's no big deal. Feet still hurt though. I have some custom insoles that should be here in a week or three and I was going to buy some new shoes at the same time. Thanks, I may try the New Balance. Is there a particular style?

Nothing fancy as I think I paid around 40.00 for them. Sorry for the dealay as I was watching street outlaws and no prep kings

Worst F'n shoes are Vans. Worse than Converse Chuck Taylors...may as well wear shower shoes with a canvas top. I can feel the sidewalk cracks under my feet in these. My RedWing steel toes are more comfortable to walk in than these but they are 'stylish' so my wife keeps buying them for me...STOP! Hear great things about New Balance. One of the few corporate shoes that still measure your feet when you walk into their stores, besides RedWing.......

Never wore Crocs, but my son in law is the President and CEO of Summer Skates with headquarters in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada (just north of Toronto). Summer Skates are a sport sandal with a very comfortable bottom, and the top is made with real hockey laces. They are truly very comfortable. They are available in hundreds of combinations. They have lots of NHL player's numbers available. Take a look. I normally don't like sandals, but these are so comfortable, I make an exception.

Thanks I wondered this myself. Now I know !

Those are awesome! Newmarket is a little over an hour from me lol.
I'll be dishing some of these out for Christmas presents!

I started walking and got up to 4 miles a day back in 2015 and by that and watching bad carbs lost 55 pounds. In 2016 I got planters facetious. I self treated myself and then researched tennis shoes. They were the only American made ones and had the best arch. I’m sold and have been buying them at my local JCPennys store ever since and my feet feel great.
"Plantar Fasciitis". I had mine operated on. Did not really help much.

What did you have done? The only operation I know if for it is when they go in and clip the big tendon between the front of the heel and ball of the foot. I'm not doin it. My doctor says you basically have to learn to walk again. Is that what you had done?

I had the same (WTF) views on crocks until my wife got me a pair for Christmas. Holy crap are they comfortable. I wear them a lot in the good weather and they are camo so it they are somewhat cool....not that I care what anyone thinks. I wear a wide shoe and the fit is great. Can't comment on the off brands.

After trying all the therapy/exercises, I finally had one foot done. Dr did not "clip" the tendon, just removed some of it's width in the length-wise direction. Supposedly that would weaken it, and cause less pain. From a mechanical engineering point of view, it all made sense. Operation was supposed to be simple, quick, with almost no recovery time. Post-op I could not walk on that foot for weeks, it was so painful. Once it finally healed it did feel better for a couple years, but seems to be just as bad as it was originally now. Certainly not worth the extra pain & suffering of the operation!

Lori had a similar operation done. Opened up/"windowed" her tendon that runs up the back of her foot from heel to ankle. They then ground the bone on the back of her heel down.
Not fully healed still in pain and it was done mid 2017.
Google "Haglunds Deformity" and look at pics of xrays. I was shocked and realized why she was in so much pain.

That’s why I self treated myself. My sister had it for years and the doctors milked her out of lots of money. Studying up on it most of our issues are from either going without shoes or wearing shoes without good enough arches in our shoes. I bought a Yoka DVD with stretches aimed at stretching that tendon, a lacrosse ball again for stretches, plastic adjustable shoe arches, and frozen peas for icing my feet after my stretches. 5-6 weeks my feet were cured but I was on a mission and did the stretches 2-3 times a day, everyday. No shots, no doctors, and I’m guessing less than 150.00.

Crocs are the best sandal ever built. I used to buy ozark trail, junk, get wet one time and fall apart. Up grades to some from Kohl's and same old ****, get wet blows a strap. These crocs last me at least a couple years. It's all I wear any more year round.

These are the nylon ones with rubber soles. The one on my right foot is my work sandal and the one on my left is for styling . Lol.

How are they for long term concrete use?
Here are my Aetrex Apex shoes that I am wearing now. 2.5 years of wear, over 800 miles of walking (according to my pedometer) and worn daily...all day.

Concrete, asphalt, grass and carpet. I have shoveled snow in them, walked on the beach and everything in between. They have only been polished twice in their life.

Not bad.

I love crocs, in the summer. Nice just to slip them off and on going in and out of the house. That said, I never wear them in 'public' .. well, unless I'm a few beers in, and someone drives me on a beer run, lol.
