If that is what he feels or perceives, be it true or false, it's his opinion. People follow him for his opinions and insight so why should this be any different.

I can see where it could be true, not absolute but probably true more often than not.

BS to fire him for it.

Don Cherry is like 100 y.o. He babbles constantly and Ron always has to steer him back. Don Cherry is also the reason I get Spectrum Cable instead of Verizon. No CBTV on verizon. How ridiculous they fire him for something like this. Even if it is perceived that he noticed certain people not wearing poppies. All he was saying is he thought everyone should wear them. Poo on them for firing him.

Basically "you people that come here" anyone that says "you people" gets some group offended.

This kind of overreaction makes me not love my Country as much as I once did.

Then Sunday throws Don under the bus....shameful.
DON is one of the biggest military supporters....if you're not wearing a poppy you're an asshole no matter what color you are.

I happen to agree with what he said.
But the second second and third generation immigrants took offence.
I can almost guarantee the group he was referring to dont watch his show, nor do they speak english.

i dont agree with decorating for christmas or anything christmas until this day is over. Then do what you want. Its a matter of paying respect to our countries’
Military, past and present.

it is because of them, we can enjoy the freedom we have.

Though I understand the sentiment behind this statement, I disagree. I live in a nation of free men and women, free to choose what we support or do not support. I'm a Marine vet and I'll stand next to someone expressing their views before I suppress them, or force them, even if I don't agree with them.

Wait up, isn't the official language of Canada French? I also understand that you cannot say certain things regarding ethnicity in Canadian schools...That is not free speech. Yeah Canada, your far more restricted than even us down here. 'You people' is instant red zone in almost any form in conversation, I hate when I hear that when customers are talking to me. I immediately stop them and tell them they are dealing with only me today, and whatever happened in the past was not in my control or going to affect how I serve them today.

"You people" in my opinion refers to the people dishonoring our vets by NOT buying/wearing a poppy.
It's a NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL day of remembrance.
