I got some help setting things up today. I have to take my car apart to really put them together though.

Not much accomplished today. My front PST sway bar came in, still waiting on the busings then I can start on the front. I'd like to install all the busings then as I take parts off install new parts so it goes together smoothly.

Jacked the rear of the car up, took the wheels off and then loaded the new drum brakes.

I also made some foam gaskets because my axle shafts didn't come with any. They aren't "perfect" but I think they will work. I've been reading a bit about how to swap the rear end and have been looking for some videos as I like actually seeing how it is done vs reading.

Out with the old. Took about 2hours working by myself.

The new will be in tonight. These busings for the springs look like poop, I didn't even think to order any. Luckily the springs aren't to hard to drop.

The car currently has some old KYB shocks, I wonder what springs I have, I'll have to look for some part #s. .

Then I will just be waiting on parts for the front.

Oh this is the only thing I'm going to have to figure out how to set up since my 3rd member didn't have one and this doesn't fit so we'll.

If you have already torqued the u-bolts all the way, loosen them a bit now. Always do the final torque on the u-bolts with the car's weight on the axle.

I did not torque them yet and that is very good to know because I had no idea you were supposed to do that with the weight of the car on them.

Yep, and it's only 45 ft/lbs. Check after driving a while too. You're also supposed to final tighten the shackle bolts with the car's weight on them.

You need a pinion snubber (bumper) for an 8.75" rear end. Usually they have 3 bolts.

Yeah and don't over tighten your shakle nuts. Did you hook up your e-brake cable? If not you'll have to take apart your brakes.

No I didn't and yes I noticed that and it sucks because I just put them together last night :BangHead::rofl:

I got a little assistance today from the bosses boss. She made sure I didn't break anything. These PST parts seem really nice!

I am a little confused on how these LCA busings with the pivot shaft come out so I'll have to do a little searching. It seems like it's 3 parts and comes out in steps, I found a couple videos I'll have to watch them.

I'm ordering a UCA bushing tool because I couldn't find anything to make it fit.

I also don't understand why I have so many end link bushings... I think I also got some with my front away bar.

Took me a couple of hours to remove the LCA bushing on one side. Took the other side to a machine shop. To remove the bushing and press out all lugs on two front K-H rotors, then press in new lugs he charged me like $32.

I had to get one LCA bushing out just to say I could, but I would have paid him $32 just to remove that bushing, lol.

Here’s a how to on removing the bushings. I bought a tap when I rebuilt mine years ago but that was after attempting the washer truck and realizing I couldn’t weld worth a darn at that point.
Finally...LCA bushing videos...

After removing the inner sleeve and rubber,I ground two slots in the lip of the old outer sleeve.

Then I used a sawsall to cut two slots the length of the sleeve. Then a cold chisel to pound it inward. Finally, I was able to go through the smaller hole from the back and knock it out.

Then I had to clean up the LCA with a file before installing the new bushing and pin.

Mancinis sells a slick tool, I took both of them out in a couple of minutes.

I rented the bushing remover tool from the local auto store so hopefully I can get it figured out with that. It only took a couple minutes to pop the other ones out.

Well the upper control arms are done, I haven't gotten the lowers done yet as I didn't watch the videos yet. Soon!

Wow what a couple of weeks it's been. Slammed with patients and midterms making it impossible to get anything done on the car.

Today I did call an auto shop and machine shop to do my bushings on my LCAs. Both said to bring it it and both after arriving said they couldn't do it. Well 1 shop the owner said he could do it but wouldn't because there was to much slop in the lca and he didn't want to take my money pressing bushings into sloppy control arms that need to be replaced.

I found online that you can cut and reweld the tabs that hold the control arms together to tighten the slop out of them. So I will try that and I will go back to trying to do the bushings myself.

I'll try this weekend to swap everything else on and hook up the brakes since we have a 4 day weekend for Thanksgiving.

Also big shout out to @69_340_GTS for those rubber bushings for the master cylinder! You're to kind an I owe you a beer or five.

Did a bunch of nothing on the car this weekend but spent some great time with the family and got most of our Christmas shopping done.

I was going to buy a toolbox this weekend with the black friday sales but the Sam's club one was discounted and I like getting deals. Thought about the harbor freight 44in but decided I wanted the 56in one which was on sale today. Went by hf and looked and realized the 44in would be a better choice with my space, but it wasnt on sale any more. Ended up getting a 4 drawer mechanic rolling cart for 99 bucks in the clearance aisle (usually 179) and got a 14in 7 drawer side bin for the future 44in chest for 120 in the clearance as well. So these will do for a short time until the 44in goes back on sale, heck it even might do well on the 26in box since I like the drawer layout on that one, we shall see I guess

I got home late last night between patients and studying. Took the cart and box out of my suv and put them in the garage. Left early this morning and first text I get from my wife was "Um do you want to talk to me about the 2 new huge boxes in the garage?" lol.
