1st round sunday morning....she practiced and got the rpms up to 3000....launched better...dont have that time slip yet....but the car did not run the dial in...

Saturday afternoon time slip....foot braking....the DA was sitting right at 2100 ft....thats life.

got rid of the coil over shocks and went back to a 6 cylinder torsion bar and 90/10 shocks...old **** still works.
 
Sunday 1st round.....she had a .028 light....the other guy had a .000 light....say no more....plus car did not run the dial....and to me it looks like she moved the shifter after clearing the traps

Second time run on Saturday...looks at time slip ans sees 10.84....car in left lanes time...thought it was hers...and then see 10.27....lol...

What happened on that run? Why did she have to lock the brakes?..
 
she thinks she downshifted into second gear....her hand looks like it moves the shifter as she clears the traps.......but...i dont see the rpms zing on the engine....the rear started to come around so she locked up the brakes.

Man you could tell she was frazzled! I would have crapped my pants personally!...

Eddy heads that originally were CNC by Hughes..Open chamber heads
Update with 2.08 intakes by IMM....plus then repair by IMM after exhaust valve broke.
IMM also milled heads to make them close chambers
Eddy Victor 340
TTI 1 7/8 header with 3.5 collector.
MP race electronic Distributor with 34 degrees....plus MSD 7-2al I think...lol
QFT 950-E85 carb...had stock jetting in it...

904 TF with old TA 3800 series converter....
Tranzact Transbrake.....car was creeping with brake engaged....had to footbrake...
Strange D60 with 4.30 gears...Hoosiers 10 x 29 slicks...
Ladder bars with DA QA1 shocks...
/6 torsion bars with CE 90/10 shocks in Front.
Woman driver....lol

Car was creeping with tbrake applied..... makes me think back to your stator support ring selection.
 
Ok...playing musical cars....get this one out of the trailer..test transbrake....no creeping....tried 4 times...no creeping.....was wondering since everything was cold if the thicker tranny fluid was causing it not to creep.....Saturday it is up on jackstands....let it run and get trans warmed up....if i had to pull the trans...i was going to swap out to newer converter that is sitting in the box...a $1300 converter is surely got to be faster then a 250 dollar converter bought back in 1983.......

going to go fire up the dart and let it run until motor and trans gets warmed up then test transbrake again.....got too much stuff to do
 
Some days it does not pay to get out of bed......dam...

Jack up rear...fire up engine let it run in 1st gear.....warming up motor and trans..ok...back up....engage brake it holds twice...then it does not hold...ok out you come

Get car up on hoist....walking under car...i thought you better look at these tires....kid went sliding through traps at over 120 mph.....on the right slick you can feel a flat spot....left slick you can see where it slide but no flat spot....New set ordered....lol....ok ...lets look at front tires....well....new tires on order...alot cheaper then the back ones...lol

and moving on.....removing parts to get motor/trans out of car....oil filter is a milk shake....water in oil....must have blown a head gasket this morning as I had checked the oil yesterday.....so what the hell.....

engine will be out tomorrow....see what we got.

yes....cometics head gaskets....hoping it only a head gasket....time to swap out heads...lol

or even motor....got everything to assemble another 408....

1st race is a month away...
