73 Duster

A 351 Windsor has very similar dimensions to a 302, heads are interchangeable, but intake is not as the 351 has a 9.5 inch deck height versus the 302's 9 inch. Same mounts and bellhousing also, and of course with more cubes you get more torque and HP potential. I have had dozens of small block Fords over the years and always found them to be a good motor. In fact I had a 68 Fairlane when I was 16, with a 289 auto that was a decent runner, only real mods were headers, still had a 2 bbl carb.
Yeah I'm not in any doubt that the motor is potent and full of potential, but again this wagon is very heavy. The freaking glove box door alone could make three Priuses..
The problem is LOL and this could be a problem LOL I gave my customer a ride one day in my duster with the dual quad stroker for Speed.. needless to say he damn near crapped his pants when I forwarded it in first and grab second..
The only way I can imagine even getting close to that kind of feeling with that big old station wagon is some kind of stroked 460 or something...???. Again I just don't know what kind of massive horsepower torque motor to start with???
Ford wise that is...
