Hi All,
With the Wisconsin winter weather rolling in, my 69 Cuda is kinda at a standstill.. too many parts of me can't take hanging around an unheated garage in below freezing weather any more. So, I'm looking for things I can bring into my basement to work on.

What I've though of so far:
Carb rebuilds, I have a couple to do.
Gauge cluster rebuild.
Original thumb wheel radio.. see if works.. rebuild?
I might be able to wrangle the k-frame complete with brakes downstairs with some borrowed muscle.. go through brakes and tie rods/ball joints/etc.

My basement is unfinished. Bare concrete floors, no walls. Just don't want to make the whole house smell like a shop, lol.

Any other ideas for winter projects?

insulate garage and add a heater. best thing you could do for long-term satisfaction. shop smell stays in the garage and house stays as house is.

Can't afford that right now, wish I could, but that'd run a few grand to do it decent. Hoping I can set that up next summer. Just looking for a few 'low buck' projects to at least be doing something on the car. :)

Did this one winter in an unused bedroom. Rod

If I lived "up there" my winter project would be to stay warm.

I used to chose one project a year for the winter. One season I did my sharktooth grill and trim, one I did my dashboard, one I did some engine components.

I built my 68 340 for my 66 Valiant over the winter in my spare bedroom on a sheet of plywood covered with plastic with a pole lamp for light, that was back in 1970....

I'm pulling the dash and heater box because I have need them out for access the door jamb. While they are out I will go through them in the basement. Fenders and doors can be brought in and worked on. Messy but tolerable if you keep up with it and get creative with the vacuum. Seats need recovering or interior panels cleaned up?

Where in Sconsin in are you RSie? I’m in Belgium about 5 mi off the lake, 25 north of Milwaukee.

I'm in Marshfield, right about center of the state. About 60 miles SW of Wausau.

About anything you can carry into the basement could be a project.
How big is your shop, you could also partion off a small area, and use a space heater to keep it warm.
You just need to get creative.

I thought about that.. to the point of putting up a tent in the garage for my man cave, lol. But then I still have that 30' run to the garage in below zero weather, lol

I used one of those 10' canopies and put heavy plastic on the sides to keep the heat in from a small electric heater. Set up an 8' table and built my R/C sailboat over the winter several years ago, the hull was 89" long but it was real toasty working in there!

30’ and below 0? Hell, that’s a put on the hoodie and a casual stroll for a cheesehead!

One on Andy if Mayberry Goober took apart a whole car and brought into Sheriff Andy's office piece by piece and put it together there. Bad part is he had to take it all apart to get it out and then put it back together again! ha

I bet your name is not Goober!!? How do you spell Guber ( Goober) anyway? I can spell peanut though.

furnace went south for winter but i have 2 portable heaters to get me thru(i hope). want to get 1 or 2 short beds done and sold in spring so i can get a better a body to put my 360 magnum in.( HE SAID AS HIS WIFE LHAO)

The only upside for those of us in northern climates is that during the winter down time, we can do stuff that would take the car off the road and cause you to miss out on good driving weather. I’d focus in that category if there’s an option.

If I had more room in the budget, I’d be doing my manual trans swap this winter but that’s years away at this point.
