The smaller ports from the 273 would limit horsepower at higher rpms- no doubt- but how much time will you be doing over 4500 rpm? Smaller ports may even gove more low end torque???? For a mild street 340 I would use the 273 manifolds- my plan when putting together a 65 Signet with 273 Commando hardware on the 340
