I know a lot of us used to hang out on the Moparts forum before migrating to FABO.

I still check in there once in a while, and if you've spent much time there at all youve probably heard of Stu Harmon. A 20+ year Moparts member, and a great guy who was always open to a visit from any member who might be visiting San Francisco.
Stu has been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer and is in hospice care.

Moparts has renamed their general forum, the Stu Harmon general forum.

If you know or have talked to him pop on over to Moparts and there are a couple of threads in the general section.

Very sad news indeed.

Wow, that's bad news to hear about Stu.
I wouldn't have known.
Thank's for letting us know on this forum.
I more or less got kicked off that forum, and was told to leave, when all the info links ads started, on that site, so i left, after one of the ads infected my computer with malware.

Never heard of him but we will add him to our prayer list.

I know what you mean about the stupid infolinks ads. I can hardly stand to be on there at all now with all the ads popping up on the bottom of the screen every 5 seconds.

I can fix that......Wish I could fix Stu. May God have mercy on him and his family.

I was also asked to leave the site but I didn't see the message because of work. When I tried to log in to find out why, I found that I had been banned. So, as far as I'm concerned I stay here & on BBD.

Stu is a career garage door installer/repair man. I have had his phone number in my contacts for many years. Stu has always been happy to coach people thru fixing garage door issues. He has helped me several times with mine. Stu is just a great guy who goes out of his way to help anybody he can. I am sad our hobby and the world is losing such a nice guy.

I have been banned from that shithole several times. The last time was about a month ago and I was told it was permanent....For openly criticizing the infolinks issue and their declining membership rolls.
Stu Harmon was a great guy. He helped entertain and feed many people that he barely knew. I never heard him speak nor write anything bad about anyone.

its amazing how fast it all happened. sounded like a good dude.

he first posted about it on oct 13th. https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/topic/224028.html

and by nov 17th he was gone.. https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/2716841/1/stu-passed-away-today.html

It seems too common for people to say that they were shocked by something but this time, I really was.
Stu did go quick.
Same situation with Eddie Money. His diagnosis and his demise were really close in duration.
My Mother was diagnosed with Liver cancer and it seemed to take all life out of her just hearing it. She started to sleep a lot more and half way to her end, she didn't leave the bedroom. She had a few moments of almost total clarity where she would be awake and alert as if she was totally healthy. This is God/Nature's cruel joke as it gives those around them false hope that they are improving.
After Stu started the thread about his condition, I felt some of those same uneasy feelings that I had when Mom was on her way out. I barely knew the guy but I knew what was coming. There are cases where people have fought hard and survived so it is not always a foregone conclusion that they are done.
Stu stated that he was cleared by his Dr from the melanoma issues that he had but after feeling pain in his side, he went back and got this sad news.
MY experience is that once you have the pain, the damage is pretty bad. Cancer is an evil force that goes into hiding and sometimes comes back somewhere else.
Stu lived in San Francisco, not Arizona so the sun can get to you even in a place with fog and overcast skies.
I'm no Poster Boy for anything BUT we should all take heed of any and all health concerns that we have as soon as possible. If something feels wrong, see a Doctor. Early detection may help and I doubt that it would hurt.
Stu was lucky in at least one thing. He had a little time to get his affairs in order and say a few words to the people he loved. At that same time though, he had to know that he was going to go. That must have been scary as anything. I have had family members check out early and it scares me every time I think of how they must have felt.

Sad to hear about Stu...seemed like a good guy. I just found out he was sick a few days ago because like many I don’t go to moparts much because of that stupid pop up ****...hope the add revenue they get is worth it

 That was great Joe. Nice to hear Stu's voice. I've heard it more than once while he coached me thru fixing a problem with a garage door....and reminding me about every other sentence to not get my brains busted out by the spring!
