I know it has a long way to go but finally got one task accomplished on the 71. Had to do a bit of repair work and lots of cleaning on the fender aprons, especially the left hand side. The left side had the location for the ball stud for the z bar bracket all broken apart and was reinforced with 1/16 boiler plate. Got it all fixed and undercoated. I know its not painted but felt with the way the Spokane streets can be felt it was better to undercoat then paint., especially with the cost of a gal of purple paint.

Well yesterday turned out to be quite the productive day. After some time with the sandblaster, wire brush, sandpaper and rustmort. I've finally got the engine compartment to the ole 71 sealed and primed for painting.

Well on to the next phase of our 71 Duster. It appears that during the history of the car that it had hit torsion bar crossmember had some kind of impact with a large object. So I'm in the process of replacing the crossmember. The tricky part, however, is getting it out with out damaging the floor.

Well im quite please with the progress that we made over the weekend. Finally got a little bling for the 71. I finally managed to get the wheels painted.

Well I made some great strides, in progress of the 71, and got some of that high dollar PPGpaint on the engine compartment. There's no going back on the choice of color now.

Well this evening, I started to fill in the large void at the front of the ole 71, with the original 340. Dam thats a colorful engine compartment. Hopefully with in the next few days the A883 4/speed will be going in behind it.

Sweet! Local even. Can't wait to see it on the road or at a show.

A '71 340 Duster is what got me into Mopars. It was my brother's car, went to most every Mopar show I could with him. Still dream of doing an Airgrabber on mine someday like his had.

Real 340 4 speed car? Cool either way, just curious.

Yep it is a real 340, 4speed, even has the 8 3/4 with 3.91's rally pack, and shark tooth grille. We got it from Mike's Antique Auto Parts, before he sold his property.

Well while waiting to get more parts for the engine compartment I felt its was time to start tackling the rear trunk space.

Cool! One of my favorite A-Bodies.

Not familiar with Mike's Antique Auto Parts. That was in Spokane?

My Duster came out of a yard in Downtown Spokane back in '91 or so. Can't remember the name for sure (A+ Auto Parts?), but Sprague and Sherman.

Mikes was more north between Hayden and Silverwood. Where Garwood and Pegasus are at now.

Ok, I think I know the place. Always wanted to stop there but have never made it. Looks like it would be a cool place to wander.
