Afternoon folks, My new 6.4 crate engine has just rocked up and I’m working out fitting it into my 68 dart GTS, I already have the tti biscuit mounts and that’s it for now, I’ve gotta order the new sump etc etc.. just wanting to know if I can use 6.4 Jeep manifolds or will they hit the firewall same as these crate ones(I’m assuming they will going by they’re angle ) ... also with the TTi mounts can I use the 45 oil filter adaptor or need to go block off etc ? Thanks for the help, and looking forward to having the new gen hemi in!!

Manifolds will go bye, bye. Not sure on the block off plate, as I haven't done a biscuit style A-body yet. I'm assuming that you will need the block off, if using stock K-member. Good luck with your project! Keep us updated!

I can't answer, but I'd think the first thing folks need to know is whether this is an 'murican Dart (left had drive) or "that other side" of the road steering. We're for sure gonna need photos of this thing!!

Thanks for the replies , nah it’s a proper lhd dart, GTS actually, have access to buy the Jeep manifolds which by the sound of it can be welded .. either that or TTi ones are about $1650 plus landed here ... excuse the mess in the photos, currently building a patio for the wife so everything is go go go for that then can concentrate back on the dart ... it’s disc brake front and rear(pirate jack kits) and just also installed some dr diff bb pattern axels

In my 70 Dart the 45 degree oil filter adapter fits but it is a mess changing the filter, but that's because of the tubular POS front end from Vendor "X".

And cheers right back at ya! I'm running a Aeromotive in tank fuel pump and regulator, 45 psi at the firewall.

Thanks, I also didn’t realise these later model crate engines are the stronger ones? (Unless I’ve mis read the internet lol) - it’s an BGE block
Help me out with the acronym, what's BGE? I'm in the process of building a 68 Charger, engine upgrades would be good to know.

Not sure, big guns? Lol ... nah I was searching online and seen something about truck blocks are stronger and have bge while cars have a different one and not as strong??

The BGE stands for big gas engine, and is sposto be the 6.4 from a truck.... they have better heads that have webbing kinda in between the pushrods... but flow the same as the regular heads... just better for boost and deflection..from what i understand

G'day. These run on 58.5 PSI. Better adjust that upwards.

ALL 6.4 engines after 2015(IRIC) would be the BGE block. The truck engines used the same alloy in the heads as the Hellcat. The SRT did not.

I have a 2017 6.4 that is orange block that came out of an SRT8 car....
I do not have a BGE block or heads
No BGE markings anywhere, and no webbing on my heads.....2017 orange SRT block

Thanks for the clarification. I have bad information. The SRT would not have the BGE heads, for sure.

..quick non eventful update- Black Friday order all placed with east coast moparts and summit - and looking at going the Jeep factory stainless headers and modify to fit ..can’t afford the $1500 plus landed in oz bare tti headers
