Are those metal plates on correct? They don't look right.

Looks like 7 or 8 o'clock on the piston

Point is that the piston should be below the bleeder to allow air to be let out of the top of the piston bore.
I think the brand new retainer plates make them look odd, but they are on correctly.
(The bolt area indents and puts pressure on the top edges of the pad backing plates, and the hoop section goes over the top of the caliper to retain it in the slider area.)
Calipers are just on the wrong sides as mentioned.

Yup, as noted that caliper should be on the passenger side so the bleeder is on top.

Also, you have the spindles set up so the calipers are to the rear. That may be necessary if this is a 67-72 car with a front sway bar (you didn't say what year car this is). But I'm pretty sure that's not the brake hose you want to be using if you're mounting the caliper to the rear.

1969 Camaro hose is what you need if the calipers are facing rearward. That's directly from Cass at Dr Diff.

I didn't know this, I used I think? Volare? and they are a bit long "but work"

This is my 67, right side. Spindles reversed, calipers to rear, and bleeder above the piston. Hose is a bit long

Ok it's a 73 so the calipers are front mounted?

The thing about mounting them to the rear is "if you think" you might add an anti-roll bar, some of them will interfere, specially aftermarket, with front mounted calipers. Other than the hoses, there is no problem, and on my 67, the old tube anchors are "to the rear", anyhow.

Nahh decided to front mount with the new lines I already have.

Thanks all for the help
