Do it hot, Just get the car warm, drive it around i like to hop on the freeway come back home and park it, lower idle speed take off valve cover, get a big shirt stick on the side of the inner fender, Fire it up and have at it, remember when adjusting it,,,, ex in ex in in ex in ex there are two intake valves side to side, if you dont like it chattering as much try .009 ,019 it will raise your idle a bit. see what adjustment you like best. When i swapped in my Howards camshaft i adjusted the valves couple times until i found its sweet spot, the camshaft specs were wayyy too tight.
