I am nearly finished with my rotisserie resto on my 68 valiant, I want to order new leaf springs from ESPO, my car is a 340 4 speed so I will order the 6 leaf springs. I have a 245 60 15 in the rear and want the wheel opening and the top of tire at the same height. The car originally came with 13" wheels. From research and other pics I believe I may need a 6 leaf +2 to achieve this. If anyone here has insight on this or has done this same thing I would greatly appreciate your advise. Trying to get it right the first time.
Thank you!

Magical ? don't believe you will find the answer unless someone has the exact setup IMO again IMO your taking the car way to high I like the wheel opening middle of tire or less level or very slight rake IMO your setup would either have lots of rake or the front will be way to high the 108 wheel base doesn't help I would say stock or at most +1 -- good luck tough one to figure out

While that ride height sounds ghastly, the size of the wheel shouldn't change anything. The height of the tire will. What was the height of the tire mounted on the 13" wheel. Just gagged a little when I said "13" wheel" in my head.

Please reconsider the 4x4 off road stance. You're better than that.

69 valiant rear wheel opening..

Here are some pics of 2 of my 3 darts I've owned. Both have 15" wheels under them.

Back in the late 90's I had a hrd f AACR Cudas and Ta's, they came with g60 in the rear and F up front, which equates to ???? now. But the deal was it was a street version of the rod race cars and the ride setup of such. But back in the 60,s the ride of a drag car look was up in the front. The guys on FBBO were discussing getting the NOS up in their ealy B bodies.

I forgot to mention my tire size, It is 26.6" I got rid of the 13's awhile back so I don't have them for a reference.

This is for 69 383 Valiant what is your tire diameter and did you replace your leaf springs and if so who's did you use. + - or stock?
Thanks Mike

That is how I am setting my car up. Thanks for the input!

Are you going for a particular look or are you going for more function?

Did you put new leaf springs on your car and if so were they stock ride height or + and what is your tire diameter.
This is my bucket. 383 727 9 inch. Rear spring are super stock 3200 pounds. Tires are 255 60 15 on cop wheels also have dropped front hangers. Still a little high for my taste..

I see pictures of a few Darts, remember that the wheel opening height on the Dart’s is lower than the Valiant the OP has. Getting the top of the tire even with the wheel opening on a Dart would take an insane rear ride height.

On a Valiant it’s more like a +1” spring or a set of Super Stocks like 69383valiant posted. It’s still a rake, but really it’s probably not much higher than toolmanmikes car.

I think you are correct! I will call ESPO tomorrow to see if the 6 leaf 340 spring +1 would compare to the 3200 lb spring, I want to sit the same as 69 383 valiant's car is or a tad lower.

Like most of us I was dealing with this a few years back and called ESPO and they couldn't provide much information good luck sometimes we have a habit of over thinking things

here's a 69 that I did a few years ago and it's long gone now don't remember much had 16" wheels tires? believe the springs were +1 but don't bet on that might have flipped the front spring perch on this to lower some (yes purchased one) sorry I can't help more have done several A bodies and they are blending in my old mind
