Hi Everyone,
Working on installing rollbar on a 1972 duster. Is it just me or with the rollbar set at the proper height it is impossible to open the door with the stock inside door latch because it will hit the bar.

I googled this and found that some guys cut the metal latch in half to open the door. I don't want to do that. Curious what everyone else has done? I do have 73 doors at the shop, they have the latch in the top corner near the dash. I could go with those.

Maybe install a bar that has a swoop to it so i can open the door? Not sure what that type of door bar is called, or if NHRA or IHRA will permit that?

mine fit with factory door handle and arm rests. "S&W 8 pt. kit" Its the heavier mild steel pipe..

I bent my door bars in an electricians tubing bender , they just touch the door panel , and run at a steeper angle , easier to get in and out of , still at the required shoulder height per nhra , door handles intact , 68 fastback tho----------

Thanks guys. I might have the bar sloping to far forward towards the firewall. I will have to take a look at it more this weekend. @Oldmanmopar based on your one photo looking at the passenger door are you able to swing the chrome latch all the way open or just part way to get the door open? It looks darn close in that pic.
