I like the idea of the full forged bottom end if it truly is put together with good parts. Even if I didn't need it off the start, it wouldn't be a limiting factor going forward.

I gave them a call this morning. The crank is scat with h beam rods. I also requested a quote online with all the specs of the components

Could you not get something similar built in Canada for around the dame price?

Any where around here seems to be way more money than that. I was quoted 3000 to freshen a decent short block I already own. Now granted this is US funds but all forged parts and their block etc. It's got me thinking. My initial plan was to redo what I have myself because I have always wanted to build an engine but damn, the costs stack up pretty quick! I already have heads so this forged short block seems pretty sweet!

I know it sounds cheap now but when everything is figured in doesn’t look so good if a deal. Just a run of the mill bore job is at least $300.00. It’s pretty easy to have $2 grand into the block machining. In 1998 my 470 stroker cost approximately 20 grand to build. Kim

Precise here in Saskatoon quoted me 3grand to freshen my short block as is. Now I want to swap pistons but I will do it myself. ****, nothing is reasonable anymore. I'd love to find someone wanting to trade electrical work for engine work!
