Me thinks insecurity is a disease, sorry to all those outed by my thread. It was merely inspired by the scenario of a stubborn old farmer chewing on a piece of hay who loves Chevys but has an old Roadrunner and the orange Orchard that he floods every year for the last 19 years, but saw an episode of Barrett-Jackson where one of them went for a hundred grand ..and so.. he's ready to finally let it go to you for the bargin price of 30K...all it needs is everything. But now that's not always the case with these "let'em rot" types.. sometimes its deep mental illness...bi polar...OCD...agoraphobia... and beyond. But again, didnt mean to trigger some of you .. it's just that, If I'm telling a story or creating a scenario... I like it to be interesting.I won't post in general if it's boring, UNLESS we're talking about tech, tech is Tech.....
Some of y'all coffee might be a bit too strong...then again...some might not feel so bold in life ..and need to break out and tell another where it's and preach that righteousness! Ah haha what ever, mo'power to ya. Just don't forget to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

oh, and have a great monday.

I like the guys that bought cars for 150 bucks back in 79 and drug them out back, over the years they have had this and that's removed, maybe a Dana or a four speed, a good carb etc. but the cars stayed somewhat complete. Never for sale just rusting away, floor pans frame rails and quarters. But now that Mr mopar is retired or dead, he or his family needs to clean up the mess because the City is not giving up this time and all this junk is going to go. Now everything has a priced 5k 10k the skys the limit. Reality still hasn't set in. I've seen this happen three times in the last five years, the last one the city cam in and crushed everything. He should have sold out in 85 or 90.

First @Oldmanmopar ,it would be a pleasure to hang out with you for a day. Although it wouldnt be enough i’m sure.

My best friend and i helped his dad fix up a ‘69 chevy pickup maybe 30 years ago.
After his dad passed, bubba drove the truck for one summer and parked it. For the last 14 years its been sitting in my back 9 sinking in the dirt.
Last summer i suggested he fix it,sell it or scrap it.I’m tired of watching it rot away to nothing.
We are fixing it.
‘97 vortec,a/c and cruise control and a 4” suspension drop.
Something fun,and something his 2 daughters are taking interest in.

As far as letting cars rot, i have given up on the parts car barracuda, and am buying parts as i see them come up for sale. Every part i buy makes the parts car worth less to me. No fault of mine, it can and will rot away before anybody makes a decision. Frankly,i dont care.

After an experience I thought back on this thread, I've been searching for a perfect left hand, drivers side Demon tail light lens for a year now. I got a lead on a Demon in a sink hole on a farm and finally got in touch with the owner, went and sure enough the old car is sunk in the ground, 72 H code car also, the tail light I need was in the trunk, in the mud, trunk floor and rear frame rails done rotted away. The lenses is perfect but housing is bad, I was tickled to find it, but.... I asked his price and he said $250.00 more than I thought he'd ask but I said I'd take it, then he backed out and said he'd rather have a 440 block so I offered him a short block I have for it, 1977 block, crank, pistons and rods, and he said he would trade. Now he's backed out on that, haven't heard from him, I think he's still trying to pull me for more, I've come to the conclusion the taillights are unobtainable so I guess I'll just have to keep searching. Just gets under my skin knowing a good lenses is laying there in the mud and cant be bought.

Exactly.
Bad people, mentally ill, or just greedy.
Thanks for sharing.

Exactly, thay get a thrill out of having something someone needs, even though they will never use it.

I blame reality car shows and barrett jackson. Everyone now a days thinks that just because something is old, means its gold and rare

Yeah such a waste. Lame people, just like those lookin for a chance to tell someone to get over it n move on.. hey, how about you do the same and find another thread for your 2 cents... because this thread is actually for the rest of us who think its wastefulness or greed to let them rot.

You should call him back and let him know you found 1 at a garage sale for $25.

Oh look who got his panties in a bunch. Poor baby.

Not a car I ever really liked or wanted but many years ago Dad and I would go rabbit hunting 30 miles from house in an area call euclaire Pa. we would pass a farm that had one of the high spoiler Dodge Daytona’s or Plymouths with high grass around the car and “not for sale” written on the windshield. Thousands of dollars worth of waste sitting untouched for years. I’m betting if it was parked in some of the other states or areas it would have been stolen sooner or later but it just sat there untouched

Years ago I bought a 69 Coronet roller off a Mopar bud. He had got it at a KC Mo impound auction. I don't know what he gave for it there, I got it for a fair price from him at that point in time. I rebuilt the whole car, and got it running but lacked the 440 fresh air breather. He found one at a St Joe speed shop for cheap and sold it to me for a little profit. A few days later I see him and he is sorta fuming. He told me he sold the breather to me TOO CHEAP! ha
I agree, he did!! But................................

Hindsight maybe 20/20 for some.. but for others it's reflecting on better screwing of the next person they deal with. If he was a friend... he would have called and told you where it was and let you buy it..or even just flat buy it for you and you just pay him back.
