I dumped cable and land line and saved $170 per month

When me or the wife wants to watch a movie we use Vudu,
No monthly fees, no sign up charges, typical charge is $2.99 to 3.99 for a movie in HD. Works great with a smart TV and our slow/basic internet. Recent movies are available about a month after they leave the theatres, lots of older - historical movies available. Vudu works for me.

???
With respects , how much per month for Your HD receiver rental
???
I dont have an HD rental, the TV is HD 1040 and Netflix streams in HD(standard package)

I like all that stuff......super cool. I love technology.....BUT......when I pay for something, I want it sittin on the SHELF. LOL

A good (7mb or better) internet connection (buy your own modem!!) , $3/mo VPN and KODI on a Firestick. You'll be watching Chinese subtitled "Star Wars 9, Rise of Skywalker" before its in the theaters, complete with people walking down in front with popcorn, 'Mystery Science Theater' style! VPN is needed to keep the ISP off your back... I can pull almost 80 channels OTA (off the air) with my antenna and LA being 45 miles away but 50 are "other than English" and of those 30 left, 10 are religious. Give me History channel, Animal planet and maybe Dsicovery channel. Kids dont even watch Nick anymore. Disneys streaming service is gonna be pretty popular: All the Disney library plus Star Wars library and Marvel catalog. Whens the last time you watched "Song of the South"? Yup, Disney is going to show ALL of them, some will have a disclaimer about ethnic portrayals during production periods, ie 'Song of the South', 'Dumbo' and 'Pinochio'.

Does anyone else feel like Netflix gets all the "B" quality movies?

We got it a while ago, and I've been truly disappointed with the movies I've watched on Netflix
If you get a chance, watch Longmire on Netflix. It is sort of a cop series about a sheriff in a small town in Wyoming. Very good.

About that FREE. HBO Showtime and Cinemax just try to stop them billing you for it after the FREE 90 days. lol

I called them. I wrote it on rhe bills and subtracted it from the bills and they still keep billing me for it.
Thanks for the heads up. I keep looking at them to see if there is anything on worth watching. In 5 weeks, I have only watched one movie. Based on your comment, I think I will dump them now.

Movie channels are a joke. Same 4 'A list' movies a month on all the movie channels and the rest are B's or worse. They are just hooks to get you to subscribe. Skin-a-max used to have some hard R movies late at night but its been 10s of years since we had any movie channels. The original series they started to produce really saved them from going under.

Funny you should mention that
I think I'm somewhere in season 2

That one I do enjoy

Funny you should mention Song of the South. I bought a bootleg copy of that DVD several years ago. Are they really going to have it on the new streaming channel? Someone will call them racists!
And you are right about the movie channels being rip offs. After having all of the for free for 5 weeks, I only found one movie to watch, and it was an older one.
